The Real Friend Motivates You Every Situation In Your Life

It feels like it has been ages since I last wrote you. How are things going with you? I hope all is well with your family.
I just thought I would write to you and let you know about a friend of mine. In 2015 when I began attending Somali National University I met many new people in my year and made some great connections, however one stood out to me from the others and we have been great friends ever since.
I met Mohamed Salaad Ahmed on the first day I started classes and we realized we had a lot in common.

Mohamed is about the same height as me, has broad shoulders, and is quite an outspoken student just like me.
We both always believed that as students we have a role to play in working towards helping in the education reform process in Somalia.

We would spend hours drinking tea and discussing different ideas between one another of ways we felt we could play a part in helping give students like us a greater voice to be heard. It was in these moments that we built a bond which became unbreakable over the years.

Throughout our time together I learned quite a few things about Mohamed. He is an extremely dedicated young man who works to achieve his goals by any means.
No matter what obstacle may be in his ways he has the faith and hard work ethic to always rise above any obstacle and get to his destination.
It was motivating to see someone the same age as me be so dedicated, and passionate about the future direction of his country. Through are talk of finding a way to help Somali students be heard.
We came to the conclusion that a Somali National Students' Union that represented students in every part of the country would be a great idea to begin with.

We work many nights and days formulating the structure of the group together and getting input from students all across the country.
After the groundwork we finally held a general meeting and held elections for the groups representative and members. It was an amazing feeling to see the fruits of our Labour coming to fruition.
We got the organization formalized with the government and held many consultative meetings with the minister of education. We were able to then hold our first open door event for Somali students in which they were able to ask the minister of education questions which they wouldn't otherwise be able to ask.

I feel a great sense of pride in the fact that we are starting to be putting all of our plans into action. Mohamed and I both hope that this is only the beginning of a life long friendship in which we will continue working tirelessly to help rebuild the country which we both love and hope to see return to its rightful place on the world stage.
I hope that when you come to visit you will get a chance to meet Mohamed, I know you to will get along great!
